Life Can Be a Chore Revisited

Well, the only reason I'm harping on this subject again is because last night I had let some of you know during the Over 50 Halo festivities that I was going to see the doctor today to work out a next step with my cancer. So we get to the office half an hour early since my wife figured I would need to fill out a bunch of paperwork and she was right. Worked on it for a while and the receptionist informs us that the doc will be about 1/2 hour late. I turn to the wife and say, "See, we didn't need to get here this early anyway!" She was not amused.

I continue working on the paper work only to have the receptionist notify us that unfortunately the doc will be in surgery for another couple of HOURS! We tell her we understand and she says the doc will have to reschedule the visit and could we come back next week!  We tell her we understand and if it was me on the table, I would much prefer that the doc finish with me rather than leave without finishing just to see a patient in the office.

Bottom line is that now we have to wait another week to see what comes next.

I am always so late reading blogs these days. You have such a great attitude and I'm hopeful that will help with whatever treatment you choose to help you heal. You have my positive thoughts and prayers in support. And my doc is ALWAYS late, though yours was definitely for a good reason. I plan for the waiting time with a good book or DS game. ;)

Whatever comes next I'm sure you will handle it with the grace and positive attitude you project to us. You and your family are still in my prayers.

I haven't been reading the blogs much, but I was catching up today when I came across this. I'm sorry to hear about you having cancer. You and your family will be in my thoughts. As Maxxie said, a good book and my fave, too! The DS. It makes the time fly. If you don't have one you might think of getting one for those times of wait. And, like Hilskie said, do keep us posted.
