So last night I turned on the Elite to jump into some Borderlands with my buddy Chainer. E74 error & 1 flashing red light.....shit.

turned it off....let it sit for about 10 minutes...turned it back on. Same......shit shit...

logged into xbox.com, registered the console and the standard warranty has run out. shit shit shit.

then noticed that when I put in the console repair request, it didn't ask for my credit card info. I had to call them to make absolutely sure the page didnt just load wrong or something...but the guy on the phone said that the repair will be free because of the type of error....so it had the extended warranty.

Thankfully.

This will be Xbox #2. I know a lot of peeps (specially on 2old2play) have had more that 5 consoles go tits up on them.

All I've gotta say is that Microsoft is damn lucky they have the games I wanna play.

This is why most cross-platform games I normally buy for the PS3. I just work with the mantra "less time on, less time to fail" for the 360. :/

I'm on #3, my original launch one died with an e74 but i had the gamestop warranty on it and it happened to die the weekend of the Elite launch. So i paid the difference and got an elite but that one's since died with an RRoD so i sent that in and they sent me back refurbished electronics in my old chassis. Took 7 days to get there, 7 days back and was in the shop 24 hours actually being worked on. So far so good though, but it's past the 1 year extended warranty they put on repaird ones so if this one dies, i guess i'll be buying a new one.
