woot! Friday

The week back to work after a vacation always blows! So yay, Friday!

Dean and I were on a cruise last week. We hit Costa Maya (meh), Roatan (pretty cool minus the multiple jellyfish stings I endured while snorkeling), and Cozumel, (nice). We were long overdue for a vacation. We hadn't been anywhere significant in 5 years, our 5-year wedding anniversary is coming up, and our first child is due in September.

Our first cruise was on Royal Caribbean. This time we tried Norwegian. Norwegian is a downgrade in almost every aspect. Now we know *shrug*. Originally we were set to go to Costa Rica prior to knowing I was pregnant, but my doctor suggested that zip-lining and white water rafting, and the bulk of the activities we had planned would be better suited for us a couple years out. Oh, and Dean was adamant that monkeys would attack me.

And unfortunately for Dean, his new TV arrived the day before we left so he was dreaming of home theater goodness the entire time we were gone. We promptly got everything installed the day we got back and it's pretty sweet. Now it feels like my only two-year old home theater is junky in comparison.

This is a crappy iPhone photo in bad lighting - but you get the hidden-components, nice clean lines idea. There's also 4 surrounds and a sub on the other side of the room. Woot! And for the audiophile nerds - Samsung 63 inch TV, Definitive speakers, Yamaha receiver, Samsung 3D Blu-Ray. We saved a shit-ton of money due to Ultimate Electronics going out of business (like 50% off the receiver and stuff).

I watched Dean play a little BLOPS in 3D. Meh, so far. You actually have to shut one eye when you aim down sights or it doesn't look right- which is weird for a video game...I'm definitely not running out to replace my TV with 3D anytime soon.

Congrats on the future rug rat! I had two of them and now have 7 grandkids, so I know what you face. Be glad you're young! It sure ain't for us old folks. Sounds like a pretty good trip though, and that's good. I dig the home theater setup. Much nicer than mine.

Nice a/v setup, i like the no wires thing and no bulky stands. It's very sleek. As for 3D, meh... wouldn't waste your money. The fad will burn out at some point. 3D will never get mass adoption until they figure out how to get it done without glasses.

Yeah, the lightswitch sucks. We already removed three other outlets that would have been under the center channel. But I'm not moving the light switch - maybe we'll paint it - but that might look like shit, too. Caesar - I told LB and I just assumed he'd gossip and take care of spreading the news on my behalf. Blame him.

Or replace the light switch with something that looks cool and would fit in better. There are lots of cool looking light switches out there now.

As a wire phobe, that setup is hotter than a Brazilian beach in July.

Wow congrats on the baby Tara! My wife and I went on almost the exact same cruise you did on our honeymoon. Costa Maya was meh for sure. That port was just being built when we arrived, and it sucked to high heaven. However Cozumel was a lot of fun and did some killer snorkeling there. Awesome tv BTW, now I have to go deal with my 40" samsung LED.. crap.

Congratulations on the pregnancy...and glad you had a nice vacation before life gets busy! No more little ones for me so I hope to live vicariously through your blogs just a little. I remember some blogs you have done about kids from way back so I am interested how you see things from the 'other' side!
