One for small games developers

A new €10m fund aimed at encouraging overseas entrepreneurs to locate start-up businesses in Ireland has been launched.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Richard Bruton launched the fund, which will be run by Enterprise Ireland, this morning.

The fund will be open to all business people, but will be targeted particularly at the Irish diaspora, international expatriates and people from overseas who have previously worked or studied in Ireland.

Games Collection

Life has been so crazy lately I havent had time for a blog entry for ages. Continuing my theme I thought I would share some pictures of my various games collections. I'm starting today with Gamecube since its probably my biggest and most interesting group of games. My aim with the GC collection was to slowly gather each game I found particularly interesting or any title that is recognised as "rare". I have exactly 100 GC games at the moment including some of these rarer titles.

Collection part3

Okay final day of consoles. Next shelf down I have a boxed Atari Jaguar, probably the worst games console of all time. Or maybe its more accurate to say the console with the worst games ever instead. Under that is a boxed SNES and a boxed Gamecube. Beside them is a bit of a curio, the gametrak for PS2 with Darkwind. Its basically a prerunner of the Wii or Kinect with motion controls. I haven't played it and to be honest don't have any plans to either. Aliens vs Predator Hunter Edition beside them.

GC continued

Ok continuing on from yesterday on the top shelf is an unboxed Sega Megadrive, or Genesis as it was called Stateside. This one has been modded to play games from any region. Below that is a Sega Dreamcast, also unboxed. It’s a PAL model but it can play games from any region by using the Xploder disk. Cuddling up beside the DC is my small collection of Gamegear games. I got them all as a job lot and because GG games are pretty much worthless (you can get them for €1-€2) I’ll probably be adding to this at some stage. No boxes unfortunately.

Game Collection

We’ve just got some custom shelves put in in our attic and now at last I have somewhere to properly store my gaming collection. It’s not the biggest or most impressive collection but it’s been lovingly assembled over many years. Unfortunately my wife insisted some of the space should go to store books but I got about 90% of the room so I can’t complain too much. I thought I’d share some pictures.

Okay I'm angry

I need to vent right now and where better than on the internet!

Last week I decided to change my mobile phone provider to Three since they were offering a free iphone to new customers. When I signed up their "system was down" so I didnt get the phone till a day later (tuesday). I was told I could keep my old number of course and it would take about 2 hours to port over.
