If the base color is one of those "special colors" it will look even better on track. Some of them give a chrome apearance.

Nice job Max.

Nice job Max.

It was going to have one of those on it but deceided with just metalic silver. Still works just as good

Max.  I really like your approach to your paints.  Too me they are crisp and clean.  Well done as always

Thanks Grim.

I like replica liveries or i sometimes put my own twist on them. If its going to be a replica it has to look exact.

If you see any you like let me know, all free to 2O4F members, or i will try something you have seen or have an idea for, which is how the Celica ended up with the GReddy livery.

Max, have you ever looked at an existing livery and think " I like that, but I'd do this different" ?

I see guys on the "other forum" that paint the most equisite replica's I've ever seen, and they're beautiful, but they're a copy of something that's already been done.

My attitude, and it is an attitude I'm told, hehe, is why do something that's already been done? And I do get it. There are some cars people simply are in love with, I mean, I have that Carroll Shelby replica, and it's really close, I get it. But I'd rather do something new, different, or even close but deliberately not the same. It's just me.

Your Toyota's a good example.

I was just wondering if that ever rattles around in your mind like it does mine?

Or, can you better explain to me why people ( or better yet, you) do the replica's, and why the need for them to be exact? Seriously, no sarcasm, no ill will, I'm truly curious. Please don't think I'm picking on you, I'm not, and I get it sounds like an interrogation,  but I am curious.

BTW, love the Bel AIr !!!

I've done a couple of replicas, and I'm not entirely sure of the reasons why people make them as exact as possible. To be honest, I'm a bit bored of copying other liveries - I'm mainly doing stuff from other games, and find it a bit of a drag trying to make something look exactly like the source material - my latest one, the Nissan 370z - I changed a couple of the sponsors around and did some of the art slightly differently, which I found quite rewarding

I think I'll do more "inspired by"/altered versions from now on to keep things interesting, unless it's a really cool design I want to replicate.

I get what you mean oldschool. I like to replicate the liveries i guess like other painters to bring them to Forza for everyone else to enjoy. Some replicas i feel need to be exact because they look so good and as i am a fan of racing and seeing the liveries on tv then creating them on here gives me a buzz. One that did that recently was the Peugeot 207, the one driven by Kris Meeke, when i find them on Google i think yes, that looks good, its also a challenge, sometimes i think i wouldnt be able to replicate them, so when i do, and i hope i do, its great to see them finished and share them. The 207 looks great i think, stands out, so i was pleased with it.

But yes, i have done liveries and tweeked them my way. I am not very good at starting with a blank car and putting a design on it, so if i know what car i want to paint, and usually its a car we are going to use in a series, i will search the internet and find a livery but put my own twist on it, its just there to get me started. For example, the Momentum Camaro, i liked the stripes and the colour scheme but didnt want to replicate it, i think it works well with the Falken tire logo and as it was a series car, which i didnt end up using, (Hundrethshrimp and Dazjon uses it) it looked good on track.

The Toyota came about when someone mentioned how good the GReddy livery looked good on the Scion but wondered if i could place it on the Toyota Celica as it had the same body shape and lines, with a bit of tweeking it went on and looked good, i put my twist on it, as it was a Toyota, and changed the SR for the TRD.

So the reason is i guess, to give me inspiration, but depending on what the livery is i find, or what the car is being used for, thats when i deceide whether on not to replicate or use just the base of the livery to put my twist on it.

The Bel Air again was someone mentioning the flames and might look good on it, which to be honest would have been the next muscle car to get the flames. The flames are just something i do if i am not racing or have no livery on the go. I also like them. I have some on a '77 Trans Am which i will post up.

Hope that explains it.

Replicas to me just add a bit of realism to the game. Different strokes I guess. I don't care for a lot of the fantasy liveries. Some stuff just doesn't look like it belongs in a racing game or on a race car. The anime paints are especially baffling

Thanks for the comments.

Replicas are hard work sometimes to get every detail. I think i have pulled this one off. I think it looks good personally and pleased how well it looks, especially on the track.

I have another replica waiting in the wings but want some fun stuff for now.

Thanks General, i made a few of them on the Civic. Painters like Oldschool will probably spot them easily.

I am praying, as all the painters probably are, that Forza 5 lets you transfer across like Horizon.

Any paints you see here or on my SF, as to all members of 2O4F, i will gift over for free with any changes, i.e race numbers or driver names.
