Yeah, tis a shame. But we never hit critical mass, all the game and mod swapping didn't help, and things just ground to a halt here. I have not fired up rF1 in ages (apart from some project testing) Not enough members have or could switch to rF2 so...Thats all she wrote.

Well I nearly have them all, but thats kinda the thing we never got enough members to really get anything going consistantly. I think being eurocentric on a predominantly US site didn't help either, or the fact the vast majority of racers here are consol users rather than PC. On top of that the entire site seems to be on a go slow. But never say never, you never know what may be around the corner :)

We need to work on recuiting and getting this back up......most of have every game i cant see why we cant use the strong ones once in a while  rather than trying to convince the majority to use just one :)

Constant switching is a pain in the butt to be honest, and it really didn't help. But I have always said I'll run anything at a time I can actually particapate, it's about running with mates for me, not what we run. I dislike open racing, I seem to end up with dicks more often than not. Thank goodness I have two times a week testing or to be honest since we stopped and GBR only run iRacing on a Sunday I would not get any online fun at all. I have kept the TS surver going even though it has not been used in the hope we may get started on something...

Switching after each season was a slight pain, but I see no difficulties in running a certain sim on designated nite too see what works and draws the most people...ex. Monday pcars,  wed rf2 Fri assetto corsa each sim has its own strengths rotate the nights every month so it's equal than weed out the weak,  being a small group it's very difficult with the amount of options to get everyone to agree to one sim unless we make the club a strictly rfactor or pcars club......gbr already has rf on lock down :)

Ha ha we had enough trouble getting enough to race on one night of the week, never mind three. But in princaple I have no problem with that mate.

Are you guys still thinking of doing a once a week race night?

I have Race Room Racing Experience, iRacing (mostly road courses though), pCARs. Personally, I don't want to mess with rFactor. I can barely keep my PC running as it is. I am tech challenged and mods just frustrate me. I like the simplicity of turning the PC on, getting into a lobby and racing. I also have GSC Extreme.

What if, initially, the schedule was once a week. The schedule could feature a different sim until one series was settled on. For example:

Week 1 - iRacing - whatever car track combo is agreeable to everyone/most

Week 2 - R3E - we could run free content, that way no $ has to be spent

Week 3 - GSCE - base content at a base track

...and so on. Just an idea.

The biggest issue was getting enough people to make it sorts while, the second was finding a time that worked for everyone which was difficult as I work shift work on a 4 x4 cycle and usually hosted. With 2 young ones in the house now most of my gaming happens after 9 pm Mt. Which is around 4 am for the uk guys. I feel the first step is recruiting more members, once that happens than look at hosting A weekly series. Like you Iam also done with modded content, 99% of them are lackluster, and when you do find that 1% that is worthy there's the bug sorting that I just don't have the skill or patience to deal with. I just want to turn it on have quality content with my biggest concern being everyone can connect to the room :)

I have not renewed iracing, just a money pit as compared to other titles, I don't have the disposable income for that. Keep looking out for the rare cheap yearly deal but ones has not dropped in ages. If and when it does I'll look you out. If the times are going to be non Euro friendly then GBR is the place to do it. No point in competing against them I know several members there have multiple titles too, the point of here was to get euro timed racing going that could include the 2o2f folk that has strayed into PC racing here. It never really took off with folk in and out meaning very small grids a lot of the time. Lets face it the four people that have responded to this thread are GBR members, and of them only me in the euro zone.

Snappy have you had a go at the rF2 free demo? The full game has more than enough stock content to host many one off races or short series and with the Mod Manager it is just a matter of download, place in folder, install...Job done. There is some good community content is on a par with ISI and installing that is exactly the same process. There is some rough stuff but hey you don't need to install it and I would be happy to point you at the better stuff. It really isn't that hard. Does it have it's faults...yes, is it worth trying? Hell yeah. So if you've not tried the demo, give it a go, it will give you a couple of cars and tracks and a fair look at how it drives.

The rF2 BTCC Civic is a gas.  Had a ball curb hopping that beast around Indy GP a couple months back.

There is an rf2 server called somthing like ISI Linux test. I still have TS server paid for, I am sure I could get any combination of car and track put up for us. Of course being an open server anyone could get in, but if there was enough interested I am also sure I could get it passworded for the afternoon. So I will just throw that out there as an idea.
