Actually, RIPD is a pretty popular comic series, and one that's pretty good, and while it is similiar to MIB it's a lot different. It's about an undead police force, called the Rest In Peace Department, whose purpose is to protect the living from undead/supernatural beings. The story focues on 2 cops, one Nick Cruz played by Reynolds gets who gets murdered while on duty and is drafted by the RIPD. He's then partnered up with Roy Pulsipher played by Bridges who's the vetern cop. They're both dead which is pretty cool, and the series goes into some pretty neat places during it's run.
While the whole secret organization, rookie/vetern team-up is very MIBish, the series reminds me more of Hellboy honesly, at least in terms of the comics, not sure about the movie honestly. Not sure about Reynolds playing Cruz though honestly..
