New Releases: Week of May 18, 2015

Long weekend season has officially begun! That means summer, camping, E3, and, unfortunately, the drought season. I’m talking games here, but you know all in all I would argue it’s been a pretty slow 5 months for 2015 so far. There have been a few standouts, but nothing that takes the gaming world, our world, by storm. This week is no exception: one big release and the rest...meh.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Release Date: May 19th, 2015
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, from CD Projekt Red, continues the adventures of the morally ambiguous Geralt. I want to play these games. I really want to play them but admittedly I have time commitment issues. Maybe when I retire in 20 years I might have some time for The Witcher series.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation
Release Date: May 21st, 2015
Platforms: PC, Mac, Linux
https://youtu.be/0hBqFc65ol4[width=650,height=366]

Before the overprotective parents hated on GTA there was Carmageddon. A game where driving around and running over everything earned you points. People, cows, other cars, pretty much anything was fair game, and the more gruesome the better. We were younger back then, and anything that got advocacy groups all twisted up had to be played regardless. I wonder if that will happen again with Caramageddon: Reincarnation?

Nascar ‘15
Release Date: May 22nd, 2015
Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox 360

Turn left. Go straight for a bit. Repeat about 1000 times. If you are gearing up to yell at me regarding that overgeneralization then Nascar ‘15 might be the game for you!
