New Releases: Week of July 18, 2016

Hey 2old2play Community! L0KI619 here and I’m glad to be back! I took a year off from writing here at 2old2play to be able to put a little more time into my YouTube channel and now that those efforts are starting to pay off, I have more time to come back and write for all of you fine men and women! Today I take on the new releases for the week of July 17 and this assignment couldn’t have come at a better time because by the end of the week, I won’t have time to write because I’ll be at Comic-Con! Now, the news, err, New Releases.

10 Second Ninja X

In what only can be described as a resurgence of 2D side scrollers, Four Circle Interactive brings us 10 Second Ninja X. This increasingly difficult side-scroller features 100 levels that include 40 remastered HD levels from the original 10 Second Ninja that each have to be completed within 10 seconds. The action is blistering fast and the game can be played in a few blinks of an eye. Check it out here:

Hunter’s Legacy

Release Date: July 19, 2016

Platform: PC

In what can further be described as a resurgence in 2D side scrollers (yes, I used this line already above but what can I do? I’m not responsible for all of these side scrollers popping up), Hunter’s Legacy is made up of characters from the Universe of Something (I didn’t make that up… that was from the developer’s own description) where I can only guess that you have to eventually end up doing something else (I made that part up because the developer’s description wasn’t very descriptive). I guess the best way to see what this game is about is to watch the video here:

I Am Setsuna

Release Date: July 19, 2016

Platforms: PS4, Steam (PC)

For those of you waxing nostalgic over not having enough authentic Japanese Role Playing Game style games on the PS4 or PC, I Am Setsuna may just be your fix. Take a journey with the main character Setsuna, as she prepares to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her world! She plans on giving up burritos for the duration of the game because what else would you sacrifice to save the world? I honestly don’t know, but what I do know is that I Am Setsuna focuses on bringing back storytelling mixed with a classic feeling battle system.

Kill Strain

Release Date: July 19, 2016

Platform: PS4

Full disclosure - I received a code a few weeks ago from Sony’s San Diego Studio for this free-to-play game while it was in closed development and all I can say is that I had so much fun! I am excited to see how much better (or worse) this game is now that it has launched for ALL to play. This online PvP game puts 3 teams against each other that feature game dynamics that shift during play - Just imagine: two teams of Mercenaries vs  one team of mutants but the mutants have the ability to turn Mercs in to Mutants and all heck breaks lose! Free to play, fun to play! Watch the action here!

Neverwinter

Release Date: July 19, 2016

Platform: PS4

The PS4 finally gets the online multiplayer game that people on PC and Xbox One have been playing for sometime now and the good news is that you don’t need a PS+ subscription to play! Set in the Dungeon and Dragons’ Forgotten Realms and based off of the writings of R.A. Salvatore, Neverwinter players get to pretty much pillage and plunder everything and everyone. In this game, Winter isn’t coming…
