I have an announcement to make this week before we get started. It ties in so please bear with me. On the 28th of March we will witness the very beginning of the decline of western civilization as we know it.
I'll let that sink in for a second.
Why am I all doom and gloom on Easter Sunday? I believe it begins with the long awaited public launch of Oculus Rift. Virtual Reality will either be the next big thing or be relegated to a passing fad. My money is on it being the next big thing and that scares me. Humans need other humans and as cool as VR is I can see it sucking people in to a point where that virtual world becomes their real world. Maybe the dystopian future outlined within Ready Player One scared the crap out of me, maybe I am being overly pessimistic or maybe, just maybe, I'm right. I don't want to be right by the way but at the same time I have this weird feeling in my gut that telling me things are going to start changing. Probably not right away but once the price of these is driven down I think...well i don't really know what to think actually.
