Waterborn's blog

Last week I said goodbye to my dedicated SMASH TV to make room for a new addition to Waterborn's Basement Arcade. Well, after waiting a few weeks and barely dodging our most recent snowstorm, Sinistar has arrived. This game was purchased as a bulk deal with three other collectors here in New England. We bought a total of four games from a fellow collector in Tennessee who had posted on the KLOV forums that he was liquidating most of his arcade to raise funds for bills.

Today was a Retro Day for me in several ways. First the mail. I came home from work today to find two packages waiting for me. The first was from my friend Golden Ax over at Atari Age. For those of you unfamiliar with Atari Age, it is a site dedicated to classic Atari consoles and pretty much all other retro & classic video games from Atari, Sega, Nintendo, ColecoVision, Intellivsion and more. They even have a coin-op arcade section of the forums.

In the midst of all the TRON mania of 2010, I intended to video tape me playing through a game on my arcade cab, but somehow failed to ever get around to doing so. Well now that the dust has settled on the movie release (and I am not constantly glued to Unfiction trying to keep on top of the latest Flynn Lives ARG happenings) I have a little more time to actually head down to the basement, enjoy playing my games and record video of them. So here is a relatively short playthrough of the first 9 levels of the game.
