The Sound Files #3

All About The Blues

Ever since I was a young boy, I loved the blues. I'm not sure how I first came to love the blues or who first entyced me. I suspect it was Ray Charles, but that's just speculation. Most people either love the blues or it's just alright. I happen to love it. Here are some songs and artists that signify the evolution of blues music. I love them all.

Bessie Smith - You Gotta give Me Some, 1929 (definately NSFW, this song is nasty, lol)

A Change Of Opinion

I am not a Craig Ferguson fan. If you don't know who Craig Ferguson is, he's the Scottish host of the Late Late Show on CBS. I never thought he was really funny and never really got him. Some people here at 2o2play have posted some vids of him and I just don't really think he was very good after watching them, even though they did naturally (you know who you all are  ). So as I said, I can't say that I'm a fan. However, he may have changed my opinion of him. I'm still not sure if he is funny, but I have a newly formed respect for him.

The Sound Files #2

I was pouring over Youtube looking for some music that I like and wanted to share, when I happened upon gospel, Actually I went straight to Mahalia Jackson. I'm not sure why. I was thinking of Ozzy, maybe Earth Wind and Fire, but Mahalia is where I went. Perhaps it's all the trouble in the world or maybe it's because it's my youngest daughters 13th birthday today (a sure sign of the apocolypse). Whatever the case, I guess I had the need for Mahalia's one and only voice. She was touted as the best gospel singer ever, back in the 1950's. In 2007 nothing has changed that.

The Beer Belly Files #6

Sorry, I'm a little late on the beer blog this week but I promise to make it up with a Beer Belly Files special report on a unique and wonderful brewery. Stay tuned! The beers I drank last week were fairly common. In fact, I bought two at my local Publix Supermarket, and one at my local Albertsons Supermarket. If you're not familier with those stores, they're both big national chains. First off, here's one everybody has most likely ran accross before:

Rude Awakening

The place must have been on fire I thought. You see, I sleep very deep. I could sleep through a Hurricane, a Megadeath concert, even an air raid. Last night at about 4:45 am, as I was deeply trying to rest off the REM's, there was a loud knock on the door. This was followed by a loud knock at my daughter's and son's bedroom windows. There is a thick hedge under my window, so it was saved from the beating. Of course, I had no idea what was happening because I was playing R6V and pwning all who dared to challenge me...muhhahahahah!
