Forty-Ninth

Hmm, guess I wasn't in as much need to vent as I thought. In my defence though, I did end up with the flu on Tuesday/Wednesday which pretty much took the wind out of my sails, otherwise I'm sure you would have heard something from me.

There's no easy way to say it - we have to take Otis back to the shelter on Sunday morning.

I don't know what we were thinking, but we should have seen it before - there's no way that Annie will accept another cat in th house. We've tried a few gentle introductions over the past few days, which brought on much hissing, howling and growling from Annie, as opposed to mild curiosity from Otis. Today we had out first proper face-to-face introduction.

Complete disaster.

Things proceed slowly with the cats. We had Otis at the vet last night to get the second part of his vaccination shots. Because we hadn't had the first part done at our vet, we had to pay for both shots because of the way the shots are packaged and sold. Either that or the vet just felt like shafting us. Still, it was necessary, so no real harm done I suppose. He was very well behaved with the vet, all told, only complaining a bit when the vet gave him a thorough going over to check him out.

Cat pictures as promised. We picked up Otis on Saturday afternoon, and brought him straight home. He was quite well behaved in the box, he obviously wasn't happy, but he didn't screech and howl the way a lot of cats do, he seemed to prefer sitting in the corner in a sulk.
