The Darkness and other sundry things...

Well, took some time and played The Darkness. It had loads of promise and an interesting hook, but in the end it was too linear and forced. At times it felt like some kind of movie with various interactive sections added to try to keep the viewer/player interested. I'm just not a player that wants to be led around and thrown in to small sandbox to play until the developers allow me to watch the next scene and enter yet another small sandbox.

Next...

Okay, so Bioshock for the PC doesn't have a rootkit. Just another horrible anti-copy service/driver/whatever. Linkage.

I finished Bioshock yesterday and was surprised at the ease of killing the final 'boss.' Most 'Big Daddy' creatures were considerably harder to kill. Oh, well, the game is on its way back to to GameFly to recycle out to another anxiously waiting gamer.

Bioshock bits...

After getting over whatever sickness was affecting me, and the medicine to chase it away, I was able to return to Bioshock gaming goodness.

Ups & Downs...

Received Bioshock and played about 6 hours straight last night. Beautiful graphics and interesting game mechanics are the flags for this game. If I feel better later I may write more about the game, in the meantime you may want to read the ars review.
