Just hanging out...

...checking out the blogs and leaving comments. If I offend, just drop a PM and I'll go back to my dark corner of the intertubes.

Instead of playing Gears or messing around in Crackdown, I decided to rent Saints Row. I was thinking that because SR is developed by the same group(s) that were involved in Crackdown it might be fun. Guess again. SR is like the mentally deficient bastard step-child abandoned in a special care facility cell. Or maybe just should be. The controls were horrible and the gameplay wasn't even mediocre. SR is going back.

Crackdown finished...

...sort of. With these sandbox type games there really isn't an ending. You might finish the missions, but you can go back in with 'random crimes' enabled and battle small groups of gangs.

I finished at the easiest difficulty. I'll go back later and try the next one up. I would hope that the generals & kingpins headquarters move to new random locations, but I doubt it. Probably just the green & blue orbs get new random locations.

In the meantime maybe I'll go play Gears at the intermediate level.

RIP Brad Delp...

I haven't been posting much since I've been spending far too much time playing Crackdown. Addictive gameplay is a bit of an understatement. I was going to gush about the wonderfulness of the sandbox, and some of the insane choices made to make this game a real challenge. Then the unfortunate happened.

Brad Delp, lead singer for the band Boston, has died.

al Qaeda! Sunday morning edition...

Nothing like a rude Sunday morning wakening to really get you going.

Awoke around 7am and thought 'Too early, more sleep...' and proceeded to doze, perchance to sleep, and the rub – to dream, again.

Chance flipped, destiny called, and fate laughed... Boom!

Jump out of bed to... pitch black. Turn on lights... No power. Damn. Off to the bathroom to find a flashlight from last known position. Then use barely working bathroom flashlight to find a better flashlight on the nightstand next to the bed (d'oh!).

Prey vs Crackdown – Fight!

No, that kind of review will never happen (here at least).

I finished up with Prey. It goes back to Blockbuster tomorrow. I can't think of anything really fast and easy to raise my gamerscore for that MS/OldSpice challenge, so I guess I won't need a replacement game. Of course, I don't need a replacement rental game now that I have Crackdown.
