Combat Rescue Afghanistan 2009

Many know that back in '47 the US Army purged the inbreds from its ranks and the Air Force was born.  Take that unkown vomit comit pilot who tried to make my platoon sergeant barf on me on the flight upcountry.  Anyway, while I find 'The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived' to be a little pretentious (really like the song though) this video almost makes one want to wear blue polyester.

Red Dots and Holosights, Oh My!

I was involved in a discussion recently involving these items and my facts were a little off.  Well, sure enough, I found a side by side comparison of the EOTech and the Aimpoint.  I know, I know, why would anybody care?  Because people asked questions, and I was able to find an answer.  It's about 26 minutes, so grab your Diet Pepsi and box of Krispy Kremes and enjoy.

Things that make you wonder how we ever survived...

'... in 1855 an inspection of 325 recruits' rifles at Santa Fe revealed that 140 of them had been loaded with the ball first and powder second.'

excerpt from the book American Rifle

This should be on the required reading list, though I doubt that would ever happen.
