woman boobs > man boobs

There is a post that tait started in regards to sexism in blog readers.  Not a shocking post (or response from readers), but true enough considering the audience.  I'd be interested to know the guy to girl ratio here on 2o2p, but we can rest assured that the vast majority of the site is male and that we only have a handful of active female bloggers, and a few more on the site that are active gamers but not bloggers.  Speaking of active females, has anyone seen Buffy lately?  I haven't checked the Guild Wars forum, but she used to be on all the time.

The comment was made in tait's article that posting boobs would get you up the chain the the blog readership count popularity polls.  I agree, but would like to add that only female boobs should be added.  Man boobs in your avatar or on your blog page will result in a sudden lack of interest from yours truly.  Though really, even that might not help.  Take Rhysode's blog for instance.  Intelligent and interesting posts, yet has only been bookmarked a couple times.  His avatar?  A stormtrooper taking a crap.  Apparently that doesn't garner a lot of interest.  Now, Princess Leia taking a crap might get some guys to check that blog out.  Sick and twisted guys, but the readership might increase.  I don't have a fecal-fetish, so I'm not sure how I'd feel about that, personally.  Considering the content of the blog, I'd probably call it a wash.

So how do we get our blog readership up?  Write an interesting news story about your blog that makes the front page of the site?  Send out pm's to all members, promising to deliver some hot female boob action if they check out your blog?  Make like Tank and have a boob-of-the-day?  Have Cuda's breasts avatar as your background image?  Do I really want to be a top blogger if I have to find new porn to post and reduce the time I spend just looking at porn?  Honestly, I just don't know that it's worth it.

Once I thought that it was the content of the blog that would bring a solid readership.  I thought that the people I saw on XBL or WoW would be interested in  getting to know ol' AG a bit better.  Now I know that subscribers to my blog are only looking for the one thing that they know that I can deliver on.  Man cleavage.
