A week after recovering from the storm that incited my last post, we get another stinkin ice storm! A full inch of solid ice with another inch or so of snow on top. More power outages and more wrecks all over town. People here are retarded when it comes to driving, much less with ice or snow on the road.
Another reason to hate winter... last Saturday my wife comes down with the full blown flu. By Thursday, its my turn and she is still runnin a fever. She goes back to work on Friday and I am runnin a 102.7 temp!!! Crap I was sick. Here it is Wednesday, almost a full week later and I still sound like a frog when I talk.
On top of all this, I had to go to Peoria, IL for a business trip Monday and Tuesday. While up there northern IL gets smacked with a winter storm. 6 inches of snow in about 8 hours! The entire 5 hour drive home yesterday it snowed on me. Visibility was near zero at some points and it was coming down so hard the snow plows couldn't keep the interstate clear. I finally got home and it spit flurries off and on all night. Today is more of the same. It is coming down so hard right now you can't see more than 20-30 feet. Thankfully it is just coming in spurts and the wind clears most of it off before it starts again. Otherwise, we might be in trouble, again.
I am so tired of winter. I really and truly do not know how you northerners handle this. Its just so cold, and grey, and bleak, and dreary. No wonder you people are delirious about the Big 10 actually being a decent conference. Give me 100 degree weather. Please.
