let's talk about allergies

I've had perennial allergic rhinits all my life.  Shots, nose sprays, nothing helps.  I'm not talking about sneezing, don't do that, nose just swells shut, eyes water, random itchiness.  The itchiness is necessarily a bad thing, where and how long I scratch is nobody's business but my own.  It's the not sleeping thing that's driving me insane.  I haven't slept 20 hours this week and it's starting to get to me.  Irritability and lack of energy mostly, and the annoying habit I have of eating when I'm tired.

But enough whining.  On the plus side, had a job interview Monday with the Alabama Office of the Courts which is ranked 3rd in the nation in terms of technology use.  Went very well, the called me back that day for a second interview the next day.  Nailed that one too, right up until I named my salary requirements.  I interviewed with 3 people and I couldn't read one of them at all.  Never wanted to play poker with him.  Right up until that moment, I wasn't sure they wanted to hire me.  When I said how much I needed, his face fell.  They wanted to hire me but couldn't afford me.  The really strange thing about this is the figure I named was less than I was making 2 years ago and the same as I'm making now with the same responsibiity plus supervisory duties.  I know what's happening, tech people take a flier on young people right out of college because they'll take less money, never mind that the other guy has 20 years experience with the same degree and certifications.

Played zombies last night.  The game's fine, just out of practice, only round 24.  Then played MP and got owned.  3 10th prestige guys couldn't handle 5 guys that hadn't prestiged yet and one other 10th.  Whee, it was bad.

Final note, enjoying the CoD:MW2 tourney except for the odd lack of movement by the other team.  I won't use the c word, but sit rep showed about 8 claymores and 6 tac inserts inside 2 buildings in one TDM.  Even on the objective types, there are people content to go to the same spot and shoot between 2 boards.
