you make the call?

Sit down protests, fist fights, and police called nationwide, over what? Could it be KFC’s inability to chicken-up so to speak for what could be the largest financial mistake in their history?  Might it be a set up to crumble the fast food chicken giant as Oprah Winfrey, named PETA’s Person of the Year Dec. 2008, announces free chicken at unthinkfc.com? Or maybe Oprah is just two faced and is playing both sides of the chicken coup so to speak, who the hell knows? That is for you to decide.

Giving the current economic situation, many people are just flat broke and wanting anything they can get for free; can you blame them? Due to the over-whelming demand after the release of the downloadable coupon, KFC restaurants have closed their doors and have issued rain-checks to the public. In NYC some customers had a sit down protest until they received their free meal and in Greensboro the local sheriff had to be called to suppress the impending riot. Our police departments are being strained for what some free food. There just isn’t enough chicken to go around, cars are lined up around the block in several communities around the nation. Traffic jams for KFC, what’s next? It would seem that PepsiCo, the owner of KFC and Tyson Chicken, has a small dilemma, not a financial one, but one that deals with the way the public views this corporate giant. The whole world is watching, at this point and it could result in a black-eye for the company.

PETA has been trying to raise hell in every company that isn’t completely vegan. There are many acronyms to what KFC is, from Kentucky Fried Cruelty to Killing for Company. My question is why a woman of great economic stature, named Person of the Year by PETA, would knowingly announce free food from a company she, herself spoke out against? Some people would say it’s the fault of KFC. Or maybe the lack of foresight to what the free offer might bring?  But if one looks a little deeper and read between the lines a person might see that this is just another plan to attack a large company that they can’t seem to control themselves.  So are the vegan based organizations forcing this acronym, Keep Fucking Customers?  Or maybe I have an elaborate imagination?

I will not address the PETA thing, as I am clearly biased...but I honestly think you may be looking at this too deeply. I do not think Oprah willfully went out to hurt KFC...
