Argh...

I guess it's one of those days.  I was at the tail end of a fairly long blog post with my college football observations for the weekend.  Then, I had a little power glitch and lost it.

So, I'll summarize, and leave out analysis on some of the lesser games.

Bama @ Arky - trap game, I'm worried, but if Bama isn't looking ahead to UF, I think the offense is too much for Arkansas's albeit improved, but still questionable defense.  The fact that Arky couldn't put together a full game at UGA has me feeling okay.  Bama wins 41-24.

SC @ Aub - A fairly even game.  A slight advantage to AU at home at night, but I think they're going to be hungover from their physical game last week, and SC wins a close one.

UGA @ MSU - UGA has looked like a poorly coached squad, lacking fundamentals.  MSU looks like a well coached squad, playing over their heads, but coming up short.  I like MSU in this one.

UK @ UF - UF

UAB @ Tennessee - Tennessee

Fresno State @ Ole Miss - Fresno State

West Virginia @ LSU - Battle of the rude fans.  LSU.

Other games of interest - NC State @ GT (Tech), Virginia Tech @ BC (Tech), Stanford @ ND (Stanford), Oregon State @ BSU (BSU, but God bless JMU), Cal @ Arizona (Arizona, but they're no top 15 team), Nevada @ BYU (Nevada)

Games that would have been good if played in the past couple of years, but now are kinda meh - UNC at Rutgers, UCLA @ Texas, Oklahoma @ Cincy.

All in all, it looks like a good weeekend.  I'm so dying for a nice plate of chicken wings and a full day of ball on Saturday.

I think (maybe) Ole Miss finally comes around & shows why theyre part of SEC w/win. I like BC over Va. Tech and watch out for Army over Duke. Hotels around Columbia, I would try Irmo, SC/Harbison Blvd, plenty of hotels only 10 minutes from stadium, right off I-26. If you would be coming from I-20/through Atl, Lexington,SC your best bet. Bout same distance from stadium.

I see your point about Ole Miss, but I have seen absolutely nothing positive from them, except some raw ability on the part of Masoli. Perhaps they can simplify the playcalling, and play more towards his strengths, but their defense is still mighty vulnerable. Your points about Ole Miss are exactly why I'm picking Virginia Tech. I think that once they hit their stride in the 3rd quarter last week, they're back to clicking. Admittedly, I haven't seen BC this year. I guess I have more faith in Frank Beamer than Houston Nutt.
