It's taking me quite a long time to get through this game, but I am enjoying it. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again - the demo should not have been of the first 2 sections of the game. This game is excellent if you're into God of War, Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry and Bayonetta type games. I got up to chapter 11, part 2, which is a fight against a bitchin' boss. As such, I decided not to fight him yet, and instead, go through and collect the life, light and shadow gems that I have missed throughout the game. I got all of those, so now, I think I'll try to get all of the brotherhood arks I couldn't get during the game due to not having the right powers at the time. After that, I'll go ahead with the dracolich fight, and then it's off to chapter 12 and the end of the game.
Saturday, it felt like I was just gallavanting all over God's green earth. Started with an alignment and a balancing at the garage, a trip to Target, a trip to Fry's. At Fry's, I bit on TDU2 for $45, and that new Brain Age game for Kinect (the lady thought it looked fun). I also picked up Naval Assault - The Killing Tide for $20. Then, we went off to a huge HobbyTown USA so I could stock up some supplies for my stormtrooper build - mostly adhesives, rare earth magnets, brushes and the like. I've been working on my blaster, and I'm afraid I'm just not very good with tools and bondo - so I've been looking to step up my game. I've made some good progress, but think I'll buy another blaster to mod so I can use this first one more as a learning mechanism. After that, it was a trip to the army navy store, where my lady got a flightsuit for her Biker Scout armor. I also picked up a couple hats, and an undersuit for my stormtrooper kit.
Saturday night, we did a fancy dinner. Sadly, there was no steak left over to take to the dog.
Sunday was a day spent lounging around the house. I worked on my blaster a bit, mostly filling screw holes and seams, and sanding. We also watched some movies. I have had some Netflix DVD's for 2 years! We ended up watching 2 of those, Zombieland and Lost Boys: The Thirst. Zombieland wasn't as good as I was expecting. It was going along great, right up until they got to Bill Murray's house, then it just seemed to tank. Lost Boys isn't worth talking about - she's a fan, I just chuckled at the acting. We also watched Paranormal Activity 2, which didn't creep me out the way the first one did - maybe because you know more what to expect. I then did something completely out of character for me, I fell asleep at 5:30, and that was basically it. I woke up a couple times, but for the most part, I was snoozing.
What will the week ahead bring? Maybe Marvel v Capcom 3. While I really, really suck at fighting games, I like to play them against my lady, so I think I might bite on this. There are a lot of good games about to hit - Bulletstorm, Killzone 3, Fight Night: Champion, Dragon Age 2, MLB 11: The Show, MLB 2k11, Torchlight, Yoostar 2 (laugh if you will, but this could be a very fun Kinect game), and the week after, Homefront. Lots and lots of things.
I feel like I have a few more things to mention, but this is already quite long, so I'll probably hold off on two other topics - the Sam Keller lawsuit against EA and the NCAA and Sebadoh touring. I think I'm in for a crazy good spring.
