I didn't really see anything psychic going on. The cats did not come out to see him. We first went downstairs. He caught a glimpse of the boy. He's a bit chunky, so the guy said that he was picking up a hypo-thyroid issue. I chalk that up to "fat cat with aggression problems - typically thyroid". He made some good suggestions about general stuff. Give the cats some calming supplements. I've tried this, but he suggested Rescue Remedy, so I'll give it a shot. He also suggested putting a kennel in my mancave, and taking the mother cat down there every so often. Since it's more open than a cat carrier, it may help. In the past, I've tried to switch the cats out of the man cave every couple of weeks. I've also tried using Feliway plug ins and sprays. Basically, all the reintroduction techniques you can read about on the web.
He did recommend putting the cats and dogs on wet food over time. While they all would like that, I wonder about it. I've been under the impression that kibble is better for their teeth.
He then talked to the mother cat. He said that she's saying that the boy isn't right. He didn't really touch on the other cat. Said she's just doing her thing.
When he saw my dog, Timmy, he said he was feeling that Timmy is itchy. This kind of got me a bit, as over the weekend, we noticed that Timmy had some dandruff and was scratching. I was curious about him "picking this up". He then kind of gave himself away - said that lighter color dogs generally have more sensitive skin.
Generally, there was talk of "energy" and "chakras", but for the most part, the session was just animal behavior advice. I do feel that he offered better alternatives to working with the cats than the specialists have, and he was actually cheaper. In the end, I have some additional advice, but nothing concrete. I wish I could say it was just a silly event, but it was rather subdued. The dude wasn't going around saying "ohm" or being weird. Wish I had some comedy to report, but it just wasn't like that.
To sum it up - I didn't really see anything psychic. My girlfriend thought she did - but she's a believer, I'm not. She says that when he was visiting with Timmy, he said "oh, Timmy says he needs to go out" and when he said that, Timmy just kind of stopped his puppy spaz and perked up his ears. So, she believes that they were communicating. I think that Timmy was in his kennel, and we let him out. The normally accepted rule of thumb is when you let a dog out of his kennel, you take him out to pee. Now, if he would have come out with "Timmy saw what you did last week, and thinks you're sick", I'd be more inclined to think something was going on.
Don't get me wrong, I think the practical advice and suggestions he had were good, just no hocus pocus tricks.
My lady did not go along with my massage parlor challenge.
