Shared on Mon, 09/27/2010 - 07:41Guess my score prediction on the Bama/Ark game was way off. Honestly, I thought Bama was going to come out and take care of business. In effect, I figured Bama would play the whole game like they did the second half, and that Arkansas would play the whole game like they did the second half. Man, Bama looked like complete shit in the first half. If we don't get down to business, we're in for some tough games against UF, USC, LSU, MSU and API. I'm hoping this week was a wakeup call to the defense to stop trying to make highlight reels and stick to fundamentals.
Auburn managed to pull it out again. Another game I was wrong about. They seem to be developing some confidence. Granted, Carolina did everything they could to gift wrap the game. All in all though, they're better at pressure situations than I gave them credit for. I'm not sure if they can do that on the road consistently, but they're better than I thought. Not sure if they're a top 10 team yet, and they've still got 3 weeks until their next test.
Notre Dame lost again. Pleased with that result. Looking at the schedule, I'm not sure they can get many W's out of BC, Pitt, Navy, Tulsa, Utah or USC.
How about UCLA? Oklahoma struggling against UC? Nebraska struggling to put away South Dakota State? Bad, bad week for the Big 12.
Game-wise, since I took my break from Reach, and those 2 hunters guarding the AA gun in mission 5, I've gone back to Lego Indy 2. Sure, Lego games aren't all that difficult, but they're good for a chuckle. When this one came out, I was turned off by the hub system, but bit on Lego Harry Potter anyway, and that went kind of more sandbox, which really turned me off. Anyway, I meant to put it in for a night to just chill out with some fun gaming while stewing in my hunter rage, but it kind of drew me in. I figure I'll make a play at 100% completion. Otherwise, it was a relatively calm gaming weekend. I bought Civ V from Steam on Friday, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Also, picked up Iron Man 2 on the 360 for $20. Probably not a wise purchase.
Got a lot of games coming out this week. I decided to wait on Dead Rising 2, giving that a $40 price point. Don't get me wrong, I like Dead Rising, I just hate the Japanese influence on design (namely save points). I did preorder GH:WoR thru Amazon on Friday. I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, I like these types of games, but GH tends to skew more to the cock rock death metal stuff. Also, GH games tend to hit deals fairly quick in their lifecycle. I probably should have put this one off. Quantum Theory and Front Mission also appeal to me, but I'm not sure I want to put a $60 trigger on those. Finally, speaking of gaming deals, Green Day: RockBand is Amazon's Deal of the Day, however, the price is kind of crap - $40 for PS3/360. I would be willing to pay $30 for the Plus edition, but $40 for the standard just won't cut it.
Went back up to the North Georgia Canopy Tours yesterday morning. While I'm no adventurer, I just love ziplining through the trees. Great time again, and I highly recommend this for anyone who may be in the Atlanta area.
Cats are still acting very strange. I had the boy who seemed to be aggressive to his mother, sequestered in my game room for a week. Then, I swapped and now the momma cat is down there. Supposedly, this gets them reacclimated to the smell. I guess I'm just going to keep the mom down there until she acts normal, and then briefly bring the boy down to see if they go at it.
