Shared on Wed, 10/06/2010 - 10:32Just noticed that I'm level 2 on 2o2p now. As I'm still new to the site, I've enjoyed my time thusfar. I'm not usually much of a blogger, but I like the utility here. I can post whatever's on my mind without worry of clogging up forums. Good place, lots of variety in terms of people, content and tastes, never a dull moment - really, a one-stop shop for the adult gamer. Thanks for having me, and I look forward to more participation. Hell, I may even join a clan.
I took some time last night to try demos of three games that I'm very interested in getting: Enslaved, Castelvania and FIFA 11. I really liked the Enslaved demo. I'd say it's only problem is the controls and how they work with the running. It seems to be a solid game, in the Prince of Persia, Uncharted, Ico vein. I really want to play this some more. Castlevania was decent, but the part on the Italian accented horse just kind of blew it for me. I may pick this one up when it hits $20. FIFA was okay as well, just not $60 okay for me. I like soccer, but it's not a passion, and frankly, I'm not very good at it. I bought the South Africa edition earlier in the year on a great sale, so I may just try to play that from time to time and wait for a significant price drop on 11.
Looking forward to some impressions of those three games.
I'm not sure if I'm going to bite on Medal of Honor next week. Also, and feel free to shoot me, I'm somewhat interested in the Lucha Libre AAA game. It may be hilarious. Definitely need some insight into that one. I may also pick up The Shoot for PS3. I found You're in the Movies to be an adequate party game for guests, but it had some technical issues. Perhaps the Shoot is the real deal. I was somewhat interested in Gothic 4, but have cooled substantially on that.
After my initial experience with Move, I'm thinking of preordering Kinect out of spite. Trouble is, I'm not sure I have anywhere to put it. I saw a TV mount, but it's geared towards flat panels, and I'm on a DLP. There is also a wall mount, but I'm not sure of this due to the depth from the TV. I could put it on top, and move my center channel speaker to the wall, and then adjust it's level. Looks like I have some planning to do.
Too many games, too little time.
