Good/Tiring Weekend

I had to work late on Friday.  I got out at about 8, so I decided to treat myself to some games.  Fry's was having a sale on EyePet and Start the Party for PS3 Move.  Both games for $50.  Probably a stupid purchase, but EyePet has always intrigued me.  They also had Dead Rising 2 on sale for $50, so I picked that up.  I had decided to wait for a $40 price point, but in the grand scheme of things....  Once home on Friday, I finished out the first half of the GH:WoR quest.  Too much metal towards the end, but a better balance than previous games.  Those Megadeth songs were tough.

Saturday was a crazy day.  I had to meet an employee to go over some stuff for an important trip he's taking this weekend.  Then, I had to take the cats to a specialist, who, for $200 gave me absolutely no additional information or remedies for the aggression problem beyond what I had already gotten from their regular vet, and had compiled from the internet.  I then had my Gator friends over for dinner, but they didn't stay for the game, as they have found that when they watch Bama/Florida games with me, Florida loses.  So, they left a bit before the game got started, and I prepared to settle in and hope for the best.

I went into my man-cave to get the TV going, and saw that my friend's 8 year old daughter had made a little "Work 'em silly, Gators" sign and hung it on my wall.  Too cute.

Not much to say about the Alabama game.  Complete domination.  Florida just never seemed to recover from the endzone interception in the first quarter.  They did a good job containing the run, but it just left our receivers open for short passes.  The Bama defense looked okay on paper, but they were still giving up a lot of plays.  They just werent exposed because Florida had such an awful time executing.  At this point, I like what I'm seeing out of Alabama, despite the poor defensive play.  It may come back to bite us, but I think it's being worked on, and we continue to make adjustments.  Seems that Alabama at #1 is very far ahead of OSU, Oregon and Boise State.  However, there still is a lot of ball to be played, and I hope they're not flat after a huge win over UF.

Yesterday, my lady dragged me to a death metal concert.  NeeDeep, Sevendust, Taddy Porter, Bullet for My Valentine, Buckcherry and Shinedown.  Luckily, there was a lot to do during the day, so we had to show up late, missing NeeDeep, Taddy Porter and Sevendust.  Bullet for My Valentine was way out of my comfort zone.  Buckcherry and Shinedown, while not my cup of tea, were bearable.  Oh well, in about 6 weeks, I get my Roger Waters concert.

So that's that.  There are a couple of new releases I'm interested in this week.  Castlevania and Enslaved.  I need to play the Enslaved demo and see what's what.  I'm apprehensive about Castlevania, so I'll read a few reviews and see if it's a redemption of the series in 3D form.  I canceled my NBA Elite 11 preorder.  Hell, I preordered it only for NBA Jam, and since EA has decided to make Jam a standalone product, and delay Elite indefinitely, there doesn't seem to be a point.
