Shared on Sat, 11/06/2010 - 03:16Finally got around to playing some Kinect games tonight - Adventures, Sports and Dance Central.
Was playing with the gf, and it was a fun time. The games were better than I thought, except Dance Central - I am so uncoordinated when it comes to rythmic ceremonial ritual, I couldn't do anything right. She did okay at it though, and even though I sucked, it was kind of fun. I probably won't go back to it very much, but I think she will.
Adventures was better than I thought. The controls were pretty decent with 2 people. Not quite 1:1, but nothing too terrible either. Played through the first section - Basic Training or something like that. Good time, enough variability in the tasks.
For Kinect Sports, we only played Bowling and Table Tennis. I like bowling. I think it's even better than the Wii Sports version. Table Tennis was fun, but I missed quite a bit.
Other than that, we picked up some other casual "play together" games, Family Game Night 3, Monopoly Streets and some Truth or Dare game that was $20. FGN3 was okay, we did Clue, Life, Twister and Mouse Trap. Monopoly Streets was a good time. Biggest improvement over the last Monopoly game is that you can fast forward your piece movement. Didn't get around to Truth or Dare, and still have Motion Sports on Kinect to try.
All this casual gaming is well and good for spending time with the lady and just having fun, but I'm looking forward to getting some stick time in on Force Unleashed 2 tomorrow, provided that football goes the way I want it to.
