Shared on Wed, 11/24/2010 - 07:38This weekend, I fell prey to a Toys R Us sale - buy 1, get 1 40% off. Picked up mostly casual games for the lady, Game Party in Motion, Sims 3, EA Create and Vanquish (for me!).
Game Party: In Motion - terrible, terrible game. Had this been the first Kinect game I ever played, it would also be the last. I have seriously considered writing a complaint to Microsoft, chiding them about certifying such a piece of crap on their new hardware peripheral that they're banking on. This is among the worst games on the 360, and I own Hellboy: Science of Evil.
EA Create is an interesting game. It basically came out of nowhere. It's their take on Little Big Planet. I see it as a ((Little Big Planet + Trials HD/(Sims * SimCity))*(1/Portal)). The game itself is okay, albeit, a little Play by Numbers. There are a series of environmental challenges you must undertake to progress. It's a kind of "chill" game. It does suffer from pacing issues, and probably could have been done as an arcade game with DLC levels, but oh well. The $40 msrp isn't bad.
There are some decent black friday deals floating around, but none that I would consider waking up hella early for. Some of the ones that caught my eye:
- Mafia II, $30 @ Best Buy
- 007 Bloodstone, $34 @ Best Buy
- Need for Speed, Hot Pursuit, $34 @ Best Buy & Target
- UFC Undisputed 2010, $20 @ Gamestop
- Xbox 360 Used Console, $100 @ Gamestop
So, nothing major. Last year, I found that Amazon would do lightning deals all weekend, and resulted in some nice stuff being on sale at good prices.
So I hear World of Warcraft has undergone a huge change. I may log in to check that out.
