Wheres the drought??

OK, so I now actually miss the video game drought that we usually go through at this time.  I am going into video game overload and the pile of barely played games is quickly building in my library.  I keep telling myself I'm not going to buy anymore games until I finish some of my older games, but damnit every week another "must buy" game comes out.  But the amount of time I can actually play those games seems to be decreasing.

I still haven't beat Bioshock 2, barely touched Super Street Fighter IV, just hit level 2 in Battlefield, but now 3D Dot Game Hero comes out and next week Red Dead Redemption, and I'm sure I'm going to be picking up both of them.  Even I think this is getting insane, and needless to say my wife isn't happy about $60 going out a week on a game that is hardly touched.  I think I may have a problem.  "Hi, I'm Arkhamguest, and I'm a videogameaholic"

But on a positive note, I quit smoking just so I could have the extra cash to buy games.  That was like $80 a month in output that I can put in my other habit!  9 months and counting!

Nice job quitting smoking! I've been clean for about about a year and a half now and have the 75 pounds to prove it. If you've already made it 9 months then you should be free and clear of that crap for good.

Welcome Arkhamguest, your among friends. I am in the same boat, I bought games, put them on the hard drive and put a few minutes or no time at all into them yet. Good deal on the smoking, it's a hard one to quit, good luck.

Ya they seem to be spreading the releases out a lot better this year. Usually I have so many games from oct/nov and there's nothing good usualy the first quarter of the year that I don't mind and I don't buy anything until Q2. But already this year i've bought Mass Effect and Bioshock and next week Red Dead. I managed to finish out Assassins 2 between Bioshock and Red Dead and i took 6 weeks off as well not playing anything, kinda got burned out. But I didn't feel like i missed out on anything. But this month there's Lost Planet 2, Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption. All three games I'd like to play but i can't afford to buy 3 games in two weeks so i've decided i'm going with Red.

Great job on quitting smoking and I'm with you on the "no more buying until I finish the ones I have!" Never happens. I have yet to finish Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed. FAIL! Maybe someday...

Congrats on Quitting smoking! As far as the other stuff.... I can't help you.. I am so bad that if money is tight and a hot game is coming out.... I will trade in old/not finished games to get the new one... then when I have the extra money or game stop does a Buy Two get One free... I re-buy them......

Great job on kicking that nasty habit!!!!! I quit six and a half years ago and glad I did. Kids pick up the damnedest habits, and it won't be that one. I always buy in advance drop change and trade ins over time to get all my games, plus having an understanding wife, really helps!!! :)

Yeah same. Still waiting to play (or will buy and play this summer): -Assassin's Creed 2 -ME2 -Bioshock2 -Red Dead -Splinter Cell (almost through on normal, but want to realistic) MW2 Campaign on hardest difficulty DA:O (on the very last sections now finally) I have to whole summer with no work and no school so it would seem to be looking good, but of course the little ones are home with me all summer so who knows. I may chime in in September having completed nearly none of the above.
