Falling behind

 

A new project is on the horizon.   My wife’s birthday is coming up and she has asked for one thing….one thing, as it turns out, they have only ever made in super limited collectors editions.   She has asked for a Dick Tracy 2-way radio watch (the ones from the movie, not the comic)   I have searched the internet for them and have only found one instance where they were manufactured, it was a super limited quanitty and on the rare occasion they come up for sale they run in the upper $400 range.  However, they were not to the same specs as the movie watch. So, after very little thought, and almost no planning, I have decided to try to make one for her. 

 

I guess it will be a massive undertaking. Tools, materials, time, skills…..I have not planned this out very well at all, but heck, I will give it a shot and see what happens.    Worst case scenario the watch looks like crap, I burn my hands and face off with molten silver and she leaves me for Alexander Skarsgard (which I’m sure she wouldn’t mind…..the ‘leaving me for the guy who plays Eric Northman part’, I’d like to think she’d at least feel bad for me burning my face off)….which is why I’m thinking about just making it silver plated….best case scenario, it still turns out awesome, my wife has an awesome birthday and I get to play hero….a role I rarely get outside of opening pickle jars and killing the occasional spider.

 

I think I will try to document the entire process on video….who knows I may someday find my video online titled “LOL; stupid guy burns face off with molten metal”.
