Have you ever reached that point where you feel surprised that you haven’t caused (or at least been a major contributor to) the end of civilization, and yet suffer a feeling of inadequacy that you didn’t?
Really, I’m almost 30, and I don’t even have a Secret Evil Lair (unless you count that corner of the basement where I build model cars), the closest thing I have to an Arch Nemesis is the bear that keeps digging through my parents’ trash. I’m not even an evil henchman for a Super Villain. Though I don’t think there is much in the way of promotion opportunities from evil henchman to super villain without running into a non-competition clause in the evil employment contract, but the point I’m trying to get at is that I’m not even working in the industry. Though I do understand that I don’t have the desirable background, and I think I’m getting too old to drop back to an entry-level evil position, afterall, I don’t have the schooling to compete with the new Evil graduates with their knowledge of the new computer systems and evil business approaches.
I think it may be time to simply admit that I will never have a small Caribbean country in a death-grip, I will never have my face on a live feed to the Pentagon War Room, and I will never have the joy of attempting to kill my arch-nemesis with a giant death ray (unless by Arch-nemesis I mean that bear, and by death ray I mean a .460XVR revolver, or at least the bumper of my SUV.)
