Such a good weekend.

Having a 4 day weekend is like having an awesome sammich, the more you like it the faster it disappears.

Friday morning, I picked up the cat, and she started throwing a fit (which was pretty normal for her) but she rolled over and slipped out of my hands (not normal). In typical cat like response to being dropped from 5’ up, she tried to grab anything she could to stop her small drop to the floor. Now I’ve seen this cat land on her face after a jump from the top of the TV(about 7' up). but she did manage to slow her decent by catching me just above the bellybutton slicing me through my shirt, and finally digging deep enough to stop the 12lb cat’s drop by the 2 claws piercing in my shorts, through my boxers and deeply embedding in my junk which bled for almost 2 hours.

After a very long time of being depressed and in a generally bad mood, this snapped me to consciousness for the first time in a long time. I don’t know if it was the realization that there was a 12lb cat hanging from my junk at 7:30 in the morning, the feeling of overwhelming pain, or the only somewhat concerned sound of laughter coming from my wife, but everything seemed to change. Money problems? Lol, I just had my junk sliced open by a psychotic cat.... Residual stress from work? oh, yeah like that can take precedence over sopping up blood from my nether region. The rest of the weekend went rather well.

 

After that ordeal we were off to breakfast, then home and played Fable 3 all day.

Saturday, went grocery shopping, then home and played Fable 3 all day

Sunday, we shook it up a bit, and watched TV, catching up on our DVR.

Monday, woke up, Drove to Mount Hope PA to burn through a few gift cards we had for a winery there then ran to Best Buy and picked up a 37” TV for the basement. (and a Blueray player with wireless internet for Netflix and an extending swiveling wall mount) followed by a quick installation and then a 4 hour long hunt for 4’ of coaxial cable to finish the install.

 

Today. Started off pretty funny, a lot of chaos voting at the township building as we tried to vote.....but I'll let my wife talk abou thte specifics if she ever gets around to posting another blog.

Then everything fell apart. a massive contract snafu cocktail to start, followed by a report of a massive violation of internal controls, 26 emails of people who were very angry that I was not there to answer their emails, phone calls(who all left messages), and even one person who faxed me an angry letter (seriously, who uses a fax anymore?) And I just got rejection notices for 4 more jobs that I had interviewed for. Even after all that I still feel pretty good, after all, it’s better than having a 12lb cat hanging from a pair of claws dug into your junk.

 

Oh, and Kinect releases this week, I’m still pretty excited about that.
