What they took was the 40 pound s tone dragon from the top of our mailbox. Approximate value; $12. The individuals also took many other statues from around the neighborhood. I know it isn’t as bad as having someone break into your house, but I have decided to take steps to protect our home anyway.
Now I’m not a person to do things small. So, I dug through piles of reviews and ended up picking up a Foscam wireless weatherproof outdoor camera model 8905W with a 32 degree viewing angle. Today (thanks to some help from my network savvy cousin) we have it fully functional. It is currently sitting on a tripod in my entryway until I can mount it outside. Overall, the image quality is great for a security camera, the night vision capabilities are incredible, and the IR range is better than any I have ever worked with. the only issue I have with it at the moment is that our cats keep rubbing against the tripod setting off the motion sensor, which emails 6 photos to my phone to alert me. Now, I think that is super cool that it can do that, but my cat has been rubbing against the tripod for the past 20 min, I currently have 23 emails containing a total of 138 pictures of the inside of my front door.
And here is a random shot sent to my phone of Bela Lugosi on the prowl. Please excuse the cats toys scattered throughout the entry way, I keep telling them to pick up after themselves, but, yeah, like talking to a brick wall....
