Maybe if I keep saying it to myself I will be okay with the fact that I just went and bought 17 books for my FOUR classes! AND one of the four doesn't even require a book, those 17 are only for three of them.
Ugh. It's a good thing I enjoy reading. And even though it is a lot of books to have to purchase and read, I will probably have a good time this semester. They actually look like pretty awesome books. 9 of them are all written by women for my "Women and Literature" class, three are classic philosophers' books, and four are about social movements (including Marx). So, it will be fun. I just have to get over the shock of having so many this time around!!
I wish I had a suitable piece for this situation, but I don't...so, I am going to have to just leave it with this very random bit:
This is what should be done
By one who is skilled in goodness,
And who knows the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright,
Straightforward and gentle in speech.
Humble and not conceited,
Contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful,
Not proud and demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
