A little Frost-y

Due to recent conversation and the oncoming of winter's chill, I decided to display a little Frost for you.

Enjoy.

Looking For a Sunset Bird in Winter

By Robert Frost (1874-1963)

The west was getting out of gold,
The breath of air had died of cold,
When shoeing home across the white,
I thought I saw a bird alight.

In summer when I passed the place
I had to stop and lift my face;
A bird with an angelic gift
Was singing in it sweet and swift.

No bird was singing in it now.
A single leaf was on a bough,
And that was all there was to see
In going twice around the tree.

From my advantage on a hill
I judged that such a crystal chill
Was only adding frost to snow
As gilt to gold that wouldn't show.

A brush had left a crooked stroke
Of what was either cloud or smoke
From north to south across the blue;
A piercing little star was through.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sounds the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Thank you, I do too. It is a small section of The Tree of Life painted by Gustav Klimt c.1909. This and Water Serpents II, c.1907 are two of my favorites. \r \r

Nice! I also read one of your previous blogs about finding a great site to grab music.. I was curious as to what type of music do you mostly listen to?\r

Well, that's a toughy, because I am not too much of a stickler when it comes to music. I will listen to almost anything, really. But, some things I actually own include (not limited to) The Beatles, the Doors, Blue Oyster Cult, Jefferson Airplane, etc. etc. from that era. Then I also own some Sublime (yeah!), Metallica, Beck, etc. Oh, I love Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five...Rufus Wainright, The Flaming Lips...\r I could really go on all day, but won't. \r \r How about yourself?

Okay I am a liar...I have to add that I don't listen to rap. Nope, not even Slim Shady himself. I know, its a travesty. And I will listen to country if someone I am with is listening to it, but I don't choose to listen to it on my own or have it on my radio dial.
