The Dinner

After thinking about what to do about yesterday being the aniversary of being engaged, I offered to take us all out to dinner at our favorite place. Pizzaria Uno. We both love that place, the food is good, we have never had to wait to get a seat. So we picked up the boy after school and headed right over. He got a headache in the car on the ride over and was very whinny for about 15mins, we got him in a better mood got him a root beer to drink and he was happy. Our appetizer arrived and was delicious, its called Pizza Skins, basically its a thick crust pizza shell, with smashed potatoes, covered in cheese and bacon bits ans dereved with sour cream...its AWESOME!.

About 10 mins later, the meals come out, she had stuffed shells, the boy had a cheese pizza and I got Rattlesnake Pasta, which is basically pasta in alfredo sauce with chicken , cheese, jalepeno peppers, red peppers and tobasco...its AWESOME.

I had eaten about 5 bits of it when I hear over the over head speaker...

"Will the owner of a Maroon Toyota Tundra, license plate..blha blah blah, please come to the front"

So I look at Amy and say "well that can't be good" I grab my keys and head up to the desk, when I get there the kid at the desk goes..."uhhhhh" and another young guy comes over and says the following...

"Dude, I'm sorry but I nailed your truck"

Wonderful...we go out side and he mis-judged his turn and rammed the passenger side rear of my truck with his. He has a lower truck, a older 2WD dodge dakota, just the right hight to get the bottom of the panel.

I ended up with 5 large 23" long scraps, three dents where the fender bends, the quater-panel is pressed inwards so that my mud flap is pointed at 45 degrees into the truck, basically he nailed it and the sheet metal caved. The fender flare looks like something was chewing on it.

Guy of course didn't have his insurance card on him so I called the sherrifs office and a officer came out, got the report started and now I get to play the game of waiting to get a copy of the report, then getting it looked it by Progressive Insurance, which is the other guys carrier and then I get to get it repaired.

In the big picture, its not a big deal, no one was hurt, it's still drivable, it just really fucked up the evening.

Oh well...

Edit:  The food was good, I had mine for lunch today, never got to actually enjoy it last night.

1. Not a hit and run 2. No one was in your truck to get hurt Sorry about the bad luck, but it could have been a lot worse.

You will remember the date now.... you'll have a police report to prove it. Good to hear you celebrated the good things you have in life and took the bad in stride. I would hate to hear you went Rainbow 6 on his ass....
