Eye sore

I have worn glasses since I was a little kid.  Good eyes run in my family, so do bald spots...but thats neither here nor there...

This Wednesday evening (web to my clan friends) while painting my Fiance's son's Pinewood Derby car for cub scouts, the saftey spring in the arm of my glasses broke causing them to continously fall off my head since they can't hold their shape.  Ok, so I call and get a eye appointment yesterday afternoon, get a full exam, order some new glasses...572bucks worth since I wanted to replace my prescription sunglass lenses aswell.

So....all better right?  Nope, It takes 2 weeks for my order to come in.

A long time right?  Well, turns out I have what is clinically called...no vision...a combination of being near sited and far sited.  Basically without glasses I can't see shit.  And I can't wear contacts because my eyes are way to dry for them.

So here I am, with my prescription sunglasses on at work.  I have silver glasses so I took some good ole duct tape to the broken part (just like the geek you all think I am) and I put those on while doing Ultrasounds.  Nothing feels better than having your glasses out of orientation while trying to look sideways at a HD monitor in the dark.

My life truly is one rich friggin oyster.

I need a drink.

Lol. I come from a long line of blind people so I can feel for you. I remember working on a pinewood derby car for my sone when he was a cubby. Fun times.
