Shared on Sat, 03/24/2007 - 17:40Just got back from watching this with the family.
I am shocked to say, I enjoyed it. I was never a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, even as a kid, although I admired their pizza topping abilities.
This movie has some excellent CGI work, as I have said in clan chat that in my opinion it makes that Final Fantasy movie look like a looney Toon movie, I know, I know, not a fair comparisson considering how long ago Spirits Within came out, but its true. I don't mean the Advent Children movie, that one fuggin rocks.
This movie however was very well done. There was enough action to keep me entertained and enough violence to make it worth my while. it was done nicely in a way that it wasn't upsetting to a younger audience. I didn't hear a whimper or a whine from any of the dozens of kids in the theater, some of them seemed to be as young as 4. And our 8 year old who hates loud noises was comfortable during the entire show.
The story line was well done, it was NOTHING that I was expecting, and without spoiling anything Shredder was not in the film, so it managed to still maintain a fairly good time line with those badly done live action films from the last decade.
Basically, if anything I want to say that its a good movie for a parent and a child to enjoy at the same time. Although my fiance' did claime to have dozed off in the begining, but then again, she isn't one of us.
I give it a 7 our of 10, not awesome, but worth the price of a early admission ticket and not something to dread if you have to go.
