Picking my Bike up.   Here's the synopsis.

Bright sunny day, on Friday, I find out that I can indeed get to the shop before they close down and pick up my bike.  I make arrangements with my friend Chris who has a bike himself to meet me there and be my rider companion on my way home while my wife follows us.   Enter the rain...correction, enter the monsoon.  I haven't seen rain that hard in a long time.  It let loose like the wrath of god himself.   Of course my friend got soaked on his way to meet us, I felt terrible, but he is a good guy and was fine with it.   It continued to lightly rain as we were leaving and we decided that it would be safer to bring the bike to his house and leave it over night in his garage.   So we did that, my first real riding experience on the streets were on a nasty highway section called NY-787 which is all merging lanes and ramps.  I don't like driving it in my Tundra let alone a bike, but it was our only option...so off we went.  Everything went fine, I had no issues other than once forgetting to cancel my signal lamp..no biggy.  We dropped the bike off and went home.  Got some dinner and watched Casino Royale when we got home.

We headed back over to Chris's house yesterday to get the bike and a first ride time.   We put on about 90miles during a few hours and it was for the most part awesome.  I have to get used to the wind that you get on a bike with no form of windshield.  But its all good at the end.   I am slowly getting used to the shift pattern, getting into second gear isn't allways as easy as it should be but I am getting used to it.

The bike itself has a nice ride and a deep tone to it.  I'll torture everyone with photos of it later.

I like 787. Its a shortcut home for me instead of going all Northway. Now 890, that road blows.

787 is the road from Hell, I'll take 890 over it any day.
