Ahh the divine pleasure of being on call. Its even raining so I couldn't take my bike to work. Double bonus.
Recap: Spent Sunday to Wednesday in Kenebunk Port, Maine with my wife for our anniversary get-a-way. It was very nice, spend the first day walking around the town, second day walking around the town a little more and the third day we actively doing as little as possible. Spent all day at the pool and then took a long nap. Went to town for some dinner and ice cream and then spent a hour or so star gazing by the edgeo of the ocean behind the hotel. Its amazing how many stars you can see when there isn't alot of light around. I've been in the capital region of NYS my entire life and if there is one thing we have, its alot of ambient light, its never REALLy dark unless the power goes out and then the back up gens go out as well. But I digress.
We got back on Wednesday evening and we relaxed at home for the rest of that night.
Thursday we did some quick shopping, Lowe's and dinner at Friendly's (hur-ah).
Yesterday we went to Six Flag's -Great Escape/splashwater kingdom. We didn't go until 4pm and it closes at 7pm, but it worked out pretty darn good. Lines were short, it wasn't very hot, I managed to drag my wife on her frist roller coaster ride...I have never seen someone outside of a hospital as pale as she was when the ride started to move. There is a ride there called the raging river, its about 10 years old or so and I haven't been on it for about that long. But the lines were so short we had to do it. Basically its a large 6 person seated raft, it then goes around a fairly aggressive water track with some "rapids" and what not. The boys went on it twice, which was a good thign at the end, because while we were waiting for them to get on the ride, my wife and I discovered they had installed water cannons....water cannons that were controlled by the people watching. So for 25 cents, if your timing was good, you could blastr about 4 gallons of water at your family as they passed by. My shot, took my step son full force on the top of his head, I couldn't have aimed it better. Ahh good times.
When we got home I took the bike into work so I could pick up the call pager. Naturally a day without rain, and half way through my ride, it started to rain. Nice wet ride. I stopped and got a few movies to watch. My wife and I watched The Invasion, the one with Niolce Kidman. I have to say, it was actually pretty good, we both enjoyed it and it had a decent ending for once. I have gotten tired of the movies that leave you either hanging or bummed out at the end of the movie because they have to throw a emotional ending at you inthe last 60 seconds.
And now, I sit at work.
Yeah, that seems fair.
Happy 3 day weeked to you bastards that get one.
