I don't do this unless the experience I've had with a company is truly exceptional, and their products and/or services exceed my expectations.
As many may know from prior blogs, my family is a short 3 weeks and change from a week in Disney. We have been starting to plan what we need to bring, pack, etc. All the little things that if left for the last minute will make things less than the best it can be. Well, I was thinking of what our times during the day in the park will be like, and realized we really needed some sort of backpack or fannypack to carry keys, dining cards, wallets, cellphones, etc. in without everyone being weighed down. Well, the lightbulb went off over the head and I thought - messenger bag. I had one when I had just graduated from college and used it for years before finishing my MBA and upgrading to a Coach attache.
After some research, I came across Timbuk2. They're a small company based out of San Francisco, where they make and sell custom handmade messenger bags. After some playing around with colors, patterns, and options, I came to finalize on a small messenger bag with the added divider inside, all made with ballistic nylon and nigh indestructable. Here's what it looks like:
Now, the bag itself showed up today after being upgraded to Overnight for free by the company. I had paid for regular 'ol UPS Ground, but since the holidays are here, they decided to upgrade the shipment as a special gift to a new customer. It's that type of small service that I personally notice, and appreciate. Did I need the bag right away? Well no. But do I enjoy having it and being able to put it to immediate use? Hell ya! Actually, the thing is the PERFECT size to fit my laptop into, and may very well become my carry-on during my business trips. Anyhoo...if you're in the market, I'd highly recommend the company and their products.
Edit: Ok, to put the whole 'murse' vs. 'non-murse' to rest - if Indy can carry one, then damnit any man can.
