Shared on Wed, 10/10/2007 - 06:15As ya'll know from my recent blogs below, I'm now back from surgery to have my gall bladder removed in treatment of a recently diagnosed gall stone. The procedure went off as expected, with a successful laproscopic removal of the organ. So now I have a belly full of gas (they inject you with CO2 to inflate you like a balloon - makes it so they can maneauver I guess) and four Band-Aids at various places on my stomach. What I DON'T have is the gall stone that was plaguing me (I refrained from posting the pic directly - it's pretty nasty! ).
I mentioned the CO2 gas they inject you with ... let me tell you - it SUCKS! The reason is that the gas has nowhere to go after they close you up but to be reabsorbed into the body, and then expelled out via burping. Normally burping is something that comes natural to any guy out there, but truly blows goats when you've just had abdominal surgery. What is normally a relief after a beer or soda now is making me cringe when the sensation comes over me. Word is that it will pass quickly, and should be a day or two and everything will be back to normal there.
A quick "thanks" to everyone who wished me well in the surgery. I'm sooo glad it's over, with the understanding that the pain that I've been battling over the past 3 weeks should be gone. That alone will make all the recovery easily tolerated.
See ya'll in site chat, in H3, or TF2 soon!
