I'm in trouble...

Right before I get to the office - I'm talking a quarter mile away from our front door - there is a fairly significant merchant village, with a plethora ("Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora.") of small stores, a Westin hotel, and several relatively up-scale restaurants. Well, on the drive in today, I noticed signs for another restaurant going in soon, and due to open up in 2008. As the title says...I'm in trouble...'cause it's goooooood.

While expensive, to the point of being over-priced really, IMHO they serve some of the better steaks available if you're not in prime steak country (e.g. mid-west or TX). I spent several weeks doing training in Indianapolis back in 2005, and the city has three solid steakhouses - Ruth's Chris, Shula's, and a local shop called St. Elmo's. The later of the trio has by far (and I mean FAR) and away the best shrimp cocktail on the planet, but for the steak, I still preferred the blue cheese encrusted filet at Ruth's Chris.

Sooo...starting next year...any foreign visitor that I'm hosting here at the home office, or group luncheon/dinner that comes around and I know exactly where we'll be going. I just hope they take the corporate AMEX. View Image

I've live in Indy most of my life and have yet to make it to St. Elmo's. I have been to Shula's and Ruth Chris though and I personally prefer Shula's. Maybe it's just the menu painted on the football that gets me. :D

I haven't tried Ruth's Chris yet...We have one here. But if you're ever in Minneapolis, you must go to Manny's...It's expensive - but not overpriced. Best steak evAR!

Ruth's is good yes. But we have a Texas Road House here in KC.MO. As good if not better steaks...cheaper price.

Never been to Ruth's Chris, but I had a terrible experience at Shula's a couple years ago and a decent experience at St. Elmo's last year. I didn't care for the shrimp cocktail all that much at St. Elmo's.\r \r Shula's undercooked my porterhouse SEVERELY. They admitted their mistake, made it free, threw in a free dessert (which also wasn't that good), and made the steak right but it still wasn't anything special.\r \r For my money, I love Texas Roadhouse. Best ribeye that $14-16 can buy. Hands down.\r \r All those overpriced places (Shula's, Eddie Merlot's, Sullivan's) just don't impress me that much.\r \r ha! I see right wingamer already mentioned TX Roadhouse! I didn't see that before I wrote my comment above...
