Someone in Dunkin' Donuts corporate office has a brain.  I just found out they have introduced this 'DD Card'.  Looks like a gift card, can act like a gift card.  BUT, you can also register it to your account online and set up automatic refilling of the card.  Seeing that I A. hate to carry cash (I tend to spend it waaay too easily if I have it) and B. buy a coffee 5 days a week, this thing was just made for me.

Oh, and if that wasn't good enough, I got a $2 bonus when I registered it, and another $5 everytime it refills with $25.  Can't argue with free money...or, well, free coffee.

I didn't get the game, yet, but I did play the demo at Best Buy. I agree, it's the most phenomenal upgrade to the near-perfect PS2 game.

Sounds like a plan Damon. Everything's cleared, fortunately there are plenty of communities for folks like me. Even if the VA wants me to think about getting the 'blues' and whether or not I'll be a burden on my family. As it stands, I'm trying to get my shit together between marathon sessions of Borderlands and preparing for the Rise of the Individual Liberties Czar.

I've seen time and again where layoffs have a negative impact. I've also seen the positive of giving company/division wide paycuts. If the people can't cope with the pay cuts they leave and are generally not missed. If they stick around, you still have a trained work force and can recoup the losses that much quicker. Stupid Mahogany Row. They always go for the quick buck and not the long view. I'm telling you, I should be the damn boss. With my high school education and worker's ethic. I'd have kept ya with numbers like that. Or made a space somewhere within the organization to bring you back from when I got the dinero for payroll. I guess common sense has nothing to do with running large corporations. :D Glad to hear they are taking care of you bro.

Nice work Darth. That's weird though. I wonder how they come out ahead by paying people NOT to work there?

Wow...that is a decent parachute they strapped on you there, especially the benefits part (that's the most expensive part of being unemployed). Good luck with the job hunt!

Nice lack of work, Darth. ;) Good to know that you have a cushion to let you stop and re-eval before you need to get back to the rat race. Here's hopin' you win the lotto by the end of the year, bud.

Good luck! I have an aunt (33 years at one company) going through the same thing. Luckily you have chosen to look at the "brighter" side of things. If there ever is such a thing. Here's to hoping it all works out for you!

It's kinda funny. As I put together my new resume, I see that I have made several million dollars for GE in net income and likely saved several million more through process improvents I have have initiated. After this, the company feels the best way to impact their bottom line is to get people like me off of the payroll....

Got my head pinballed in an IED blast back in '06 and it unloaded alot of crap that was building on me and the docs decided I needed to move along. My current analogy is this: Imagine not liking M&Ms, overtime you have a glass jar that gets filled with 500 lbs of M&Ms, that jar gets blown up and the people who were supposed to help clean it up got scared of the mess and just left it alone. Anyways, enough of my sob story, I'm looking at going to Colorado School of Trades for their Gunsmithing program and the medium to long term goal is to set up my own shop and range facility.

I tried to score one earlier. Both Futureshop and Best Buy list them as in stock at the stores around me, however they don't actually have them out on the shelves... bastards, obeying the april 3rd date :( Oh well, I'll check their sites every morning and do the order-online-but-pickup-in-store thing when it lets me. I was going to hold of a bit on this game, but I did a shit ton of unexpected overtime for work today... which equals money for the game :)

I'm a bit worried about this Circuit City error depleting their stock. I've got a gift card for there that's going toward this game, because I want to buy it there and get the MS points. I'm calling in the morning, and I'll be there when the doors open on Tuesday, if they have any.

I've been wondering what my second favorite E5 was up too. Now I know. I expected it based on your updates. I guess I just didn't realize how soon it was to be. Leaving active duty is bitter/sweet. Congratulations. Here's hoping you clear post without a hitch. And if you set up that shop and range ... I'll gather up my other vet buds to come test it out!!!
