It's review time...

No, not a movie or game, but rather my semi-annual performance review at the office.  I'm glad it has finally come, because there has been build up over changes in my job in the form of a promotion for - well, over a year now.  Fortunately I've been able to remain patient, but that has come to an end.  My boss hinted early last week that I was likely to be taking on even more responsibility than was previously discussed - actually taking over the workload of a wholly separate Assoc. Dir. in the department.  My concern with that is the area he manages/managed is outside my real area of expertise, so there would be a learning curve, and it would come with 3 additional direct reports.  Of those reports, one had been on a performance improvement plan last year, and one of the others is an extraordinarily intelligent, but stubborn, woman.  Not too appealing if you ask me.  BUT...perhaps I can be bought with a two-level promotion. 

Either way, will keep the fingers crossed and look forward to 1:30 this afternoon.  Until then, I'll leave you with something quite appropriate given the fun of today in store for me:

Fortunately (or unfortunately), you can do even better,

So, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that WhileHardwork and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it's the Bullshit and Asskissing that will put you over the top.
