My Bucket List

I'll jump onto the Blog-Of-The-Day bandwagon...

1.  Learn to scuba dive.  I missed the golden opportunity right before I did a 3-month univerity rotation in Puerto Rico...could have learned and been certified for $100, and then went diving every weekend in Puerto Rico for three months.  One of my regrets in life that I intend to fix.

2.  Put all my kids through college.  I was "fortunate" to have some debt in the way of loans from my undergrad, and now a LOT of debt from my graduate degree.  Yes, it does build character, responsibility, and a credit history - but it's also a burden I hope my kids don't need to be saddled with.  The scary part is my eldest starts in 6 years...

3.  Surprise my wife one Friday afternoon by coming home, telling her to quickly pack a suitcase, and fly her to Paris for Saturday breakfast.  What can I say...I'm a romantic somewhere deep down.

4.  To visit all seven continents.  Six of the seven are relatively easy (N. America and Europe done already, Asia in May), but I'll need some fun way to work Antartica into the equation.

5.  Learn a second language (again).  I was once fluent in Spanish, but lost it all by not using it for the better part of a decade.  I'd either like a reason to pick it up again, or even better find another language to learn.  Danish would be great for my current company, but is also one of the hardest to learn.

6.  Be published.  In more trainings than I can count, there's a ice breaking excercise where you tell two truths, and one lie, and see if people can guess it.  My lie always is that I'm a published author.  I'd like to change that eventually.

That should do for now.  I'm sure I could come up with more, but each of these is achieveable, albeit with a lot of work.
