Doing the right thing?

Sometimes it seems that doing the "right" thing is just a waste of time, especially when dealing with companies.  So here's my tale from today as also posted in the RB forums.

Just thought I would give you all a heads up on my problems with the ION kit and more importantly the companies warranty/repair program.  I was given an RMA # and sent it in my controllerr portion of my drum rocker, as I was having it say controller disconnected every 2-5 songs while playing (making it impossible to play online).  I shipped out on the 9th of December at my expense and they agreed to ship back with same type of shipping free of cost.

Fast forward to today, I called to check the status as I'm Jonesing to play some RB2 on drums and I was told it was on its way back, great news until I was told that they found nothing wrong and I was getting my original unit back.  I got nowhere with them and was told after I got my controller back to initiate a new claim.

So my advice to you is to do what my next step in my new warranty process is, if you have any problems with your ION.  Order a new from your store of choice (waiting for it to come UPS) and then just open the box carefully, swap the bad components and then return to store.  Alot of stores are even offering free shipping with this shit economy.  This way you won't spend a dime out of pocket and you will be able to be back rocking much more quickly.

Today was one of those days I wish I could have jump through the phone and crushed the person on the other end of the phone if you know what I mean.
