A couple new sketches to post up. But first, I gave props last week to another 2o2p artist blog, Wilderz. I hope you all had a chance to check out his stuff. Here is another very talented 2o2p member, Twisted So after you check out my new sketches today give this brother some joy and hit his blog up.

This weeks sketches are of Wolverine and PowerGirl. One Marvel character for the Marvel Zombies ( you guys know who you are  ) one DC character for the DC lovers. One dude for the ladies and one lady for the dudes. :D Wolverine is drawn in his new Xforce costume. Kinda hard to tell without some color. I did this for my buddy LB who turned me on to the Comic Book Data Base site. A very cool place to organize and inventory your comic collection. Thanks dude :D Power Girl is not one of my favorite ladies in comics but she sure looks good. I tried to do her in an Adam Hughes kinda style. I love me some Hughes and some big chested lady heroes.  I also threw down some grey wash to add some "shape" not that she needed anymore.

Lastly I dont know if everyone is aware but we have a great Comics Forum here at 2o2p. It doesn't get frequented nearly enough so if you dig comics stop in and put your two cents in. :P

Peace!

Nice stuff, man. I met Hughes at SuperCon last month and watched him draw a few commissions. That guy is so talented it's insane. One of my favorites artists too.

as always, good job Bats. :-) I like how the background in the PowerGirl pic makes her stand out. it's almost 3D looking. good job. :-)

xforce Wolvie ftw!!!! Are you going to do him in color by any chance!! I also like that you did the big blades instead of the thing round blades some of the comic guys do.... You need to get me your db id (it will be 4 digits...mine is 2112)so I can check out the collection!! Drk Knight01 also has a collection on there, his link is posted in the comic forum.

Yeah i agree Beefy. I have met him a few times over the years at different cons. One of my all time favorite con experiences was sitting at his table in San Diego, probably 10 years ago, and slowly going through, age by page, this massive sketch book he had at the table. It was filled with millions of one of a kind pieces, developmental stuff, sketches, ideas, doodles. It was enough to blow my mind!! Thanks Freak. Yeah the bkgd was just blurred with some Photoshop blur. Its a Manga trick that I used to hate but Im growing to like it. :D I might just have to put some color on that Wolvie LB. I didn't realize how similar the new XForce costume looks in B&W to the old Brown costume. I haven't signed up for an account yet at CBDB Im still intimidated. But when I do i will get you my number. :D - BAT

Come on Bat, get on the CBDB site. Its cake to do and once you get done entering all your comics its fairly simple to keep them up to date. I think there are several of us from the 2o2p comic forum that have accounts that have a link for people to see our stuff(or we used to anyway, one of the stickied threads I thought). Good plug for the 2o2p comic forum in your blog!

Good Shit man! Love the Wolvie pic! I tried desperately to do some sketching today, but could not get anything going after like 3 hours. So, I put my pen down, and will probably try again later. What do you do when you run into a creative block?

I hear ya Raider, its just like LB says though. Im a little intimidated as to the scope of the project. I do have close to or a little over 4,000 comics. ( been collecting since i was 8 years old, 45 now so thats allot of books. I think i will start slow with the large runs i have of some titles. I understand i can put in a range of issues so that will cut my job in half probably. :D thats a tough one Wilderz. The best thing is to pick up some stuff that inspires you. Comics, browsing artist sites on line, looking through books like Spectrum or magazines like ImaginFX, watch a cool movie or animated piece. Anything that will inspire you will probably also motivate you to get drawing! :-) - BAT
