BRUTE CHIEFTAIN - REVISED!

B
BATMANKM

When I created this weeks Halo art post I intended for the piece to have a single color harmony. Im not sure what thats called, which is pretty pathetic for an artist to admit  but I wanted it to be one over all color story. Much like the Arbitor illo of week #1. I think it came off close to what I was shooting for and I was pretty happy with it. However, a number of your posted in the comments that I should try separating the figure and the Hammer from the background more. I got a little time late tonight to come back to it and mess around with it and I am posting the revised version. Let me know what you think. Im leaving up the original for comparison. I adjusted his suit to a dark blue to help separate him from the background. It also, coincidentally, makes him more menacing and evil looking. Which is cool. I think I like this one better now :-) So thanks everyone for your comments and support. I appreciate it and I do take them to heart and apply them when I can :-)

This one is much better! The character does stand out much better, looks more 3-dimensional. Nice work! :)

I think I like this second one better but I appreciate what you were doing in its first incarnation. This new one looks more action comic book style and does seem to come out of the page where as the first has a more thematic style.
