HALO ART- WEEK #2 - CORTANA & GRAVEMIND

Ok week #2. Its been a hell week for me so I wont be posting a full color piece today. Pencils only :-( However I will color this piece because I like how its coming out so Ill be adding to one of the upcoming weeks but Ill do it as an addition because I want a completely different piece every week or Im cheating. :-)

I got some requests last week for Cortana. So I decided to have her be this weeks subject matter, but I thought that it would be cool to tie it too Halo 3 by posing here wrapped in the Gravemind. Seemed appropriate with the ending of Halo 2 and after the trailer which shows her apparently compromised or possessed by the Gravemind.

I did two slightly different takes and I would love to hear from people which they like best and think should be the one I bring to color. The difference is the first one has Cortana as the focus with the Grave mind in the background and smaller. Also her head is looking at as directly in a slightly vacant and sexy way. As if she is not all there, but still hot! :lol: The second has the Gravemind much closer and larger , towering over here head. This kinda of splits the emphasis of the piece and makes them both important. It more aggressively implies his domination/control over her. Also her head has been handled differently tilting it down and to the side so she is looking up at us in a much darker and sinister fashion.

Once again everyones comments and suggestions are welcome and encouraged :-) Also feel free to through in a suggestion for next weeks #3 piece. Im leaning towards Guilty Spark, but Im open to other ideas.

Lastly, sometimes people ask where I get my inspiration for a pose or a look, or what I used as refrence. my inspiration for this weeks Cortana pose, as well as her face in the first drawing, come from this weeks GQ cover with an amazing pic of Jessica Biel on the beach. I have posted a scan of it for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy :-)
